    Proteomics and Metabolomics

    Introduction to mass spectrometry for biological applications. Includes: review of mass analyzers and ionization methods; analytical strategies for the detection, characterization and quantification of proteins and metabolites; use of tandem mass spectrometry to determine protein sequence and metabolite structure; identification and localization of protein post-translational modifications; application of proteomics methods to drug development and clinical screening; use of proteomics for determining and characterising molecular interactions.
